Cop Watch app has your back when you get pulled over, stopped or frisked

I wish I had thought of this. In fact, I think everyone who gives a damn about civil liberties, wishes that they had come up with this one. It’s called Cop Watch, and it was created by a Canadian app developer named Darren Baptiste.

What’s it do? It starts recording at the push of a button, and keeps going until you push stop. Then the video goes directly to youtube. It is almost better than having ring of witness on the scene.

It isn’t the only one. Last year the NYCLU (New York Civil Liberties Union?) launched an app designed to moniter the cities rampant and unfair stop and frisk shakedowns. This one, however, has a cool eye of horus graphic.

It costs 99 cents. It’s available for iPhones…. no Android? So, if you are going to get pulled over, you’d better be with your Apple snob friend at the time. Either way, there are so many stories out there in which technology is being used against us, it’s nice to see something positive.
