Doomsday Castle: Future Guilty Pleasure

Am I the only one conflicted about this?
I mean, it’s one-stop Doomsday DIY. Like the Colony, but with less roach eating (I presume) and soap opera nonsense. The Colony was always hard to swallow, because it required such a suspension of disbelief.
Like, I am really supposed to believe that these people have convinced themselves that they are really surviving the apocalypse? Really?
But Doomsday Castle sidesteps that totally. They aren’t pretending that Doomsday has already happened. They are doing what any warm blooded American preppers would do, if they had a NatGeo budget and were told, “Go crazier!”
Full disclosure. I am not Doomsday believer. I’m more of an agnostic. Anything is possible… but some things are pretty damned unlikely. And, frankly, some things aren’t possible.
But, things could unravel. It’s hard to look at the unrest that grips Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Mexico…(do I need to go on?) to see that we are not inoculated against fan propelled shit. But building a castle isn’t an option. And if I could, I wouldn’t.
So, what’s not to like about Doomsday Castle? Nothing, really. But the idea of a bunch of fringy white folk, armed to the teeth and waiting for the other shoe to drop is not comforting in the least.
Does that mean I won’t watch it? Nope. I will record every episode.
