This is Danger Word. It’s the trailer for a short film written by husband and wife team Tananarive Due and Steven Barnes.
I watched it come into existence through facebook chatter. When they launched a fundraising campaign I kicked myself for not being in a position to donate.
Yeah, I think it’s a big deal.
In Danger Word, an elder is schooling his granddaughter in the early days of a zombie apocalypse. It’s set in a cabin and features a lot of things that you don’t see a whole lot anymore, like Black people in the woods, and guns used in a fashion other than street crime.
If the trailer is any indication, it pulls no punches.
